Enamel, also known as “cloisonne”, enamel is some glass-like minerals grinding, filling, melting, and then forming a rich color. Enamel is a mixture of silica sand, lime, borax and sodium carbonate. It is painted, carved and burned at hundreds of degrees of high temperature before it can be beautifully transformed.
Enamel technology is widely used in the production of badges, MEDALS, commemorative coins and all kinds of handicrafts. The glaze is roasted in a high-temperature kiln. The surface presents metallic luster and hardness, like jewel-like texture and color, very delicate.
There are many classifications of enamel craft, which are generally divided into two categories
according to the production method and the type of embryo.
According to making method can divide pinching silk enamel roughly, inside fill enamel (namely inlay foetus enamel), draw enamel.
According to foetus ground kind, enamel implement can divide foetus enamel of gold commonly, copper foetus enamel, porcelain foetus enamel, glass foetus enamel, violet arenaceous foetus enamel.
Enamel production process
Set the mold: import the computer designed manuscript into the engraving machine program to weave the knife path for touch tool carving, pay attention to the thickness of the knife grain in the engraving process, compare according to the draft after carving, finally heat treatment of the mold, in order to strengthen the hardness and durability of touch tool.
Pressing: To press the design onto different medal-making materials such as copper or iron.
Punching material: make use of the knife die, the product according to its shape, with the punch down the product.
Polishing: the knife die down the product into the polishing machine polishing, remove the stamping burr. Improve the finish of the product.
Color: place the parts of the product on the shore and enamel them according to the custom color
Firing: the semi-finished products are put into the kiln and fired at high temperature. The enamel glaze is extremely sensitive to temperature. The same material and the same furnace firing effect are not the same. Circulatory operation coloring and fire make two steps 3-4, until glaze achieves anticipated thickness, there is an error in these 3 4 circulatory operation to be met all previous efforts discard.
In recent years, the value of medal collection has become increasingly prominent, especially the MEDALS and commemorative MEDALS made of metal materials, which have become the mainstream of medal production at present, such as enamel MEDALS and imitation enamel MEDALS in high-grade MEDALS, as well as lacquer MEDALS, and relatively cheap metal MEDALS made of iron. The metal MEDALS can be processed into exquisite MEDALS with rich colors by baking paint or soft enamel. Metal MEDALS have a strong three-dimensional sense and various patterns have a prominent sense of layering. They are the most used medal products among high-end users.
