Under Sassmannshausen’s leadership, Kinvarra Farm became a dominant force in Class A and AA equestrian competition in the United States (Kinvarra Farm riders have been extremely successful, winning numerous regional and national championships, as well as winning the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF)) , Kentucky Horse Park, Traverse City, Showplace Productions (Ledges series), Capital Challenge and more.
One of the highlights of Sassmannshausen’s career was winning the $10,000 Alltech Lifeforce Hunter Derby at Showplace Production’s Ledges. The win capped off an amazing summer with customer-owned Rosalita, a proud Lifeforce consumer, who has won six of the eight national derbies in 2021 and clinched numerous titles.
Sussmanshausen also performed well in the jumping circle last year. At the WEF, he achieved many heights in the 1.40m and 1.45m open jumps, and won awards in the 1.50m National Grand Prix. During the summer, he competes in many Grand Prix races at the Lamplight Equestrian Center. . He is also the gold medalist in the Traverse City District 5 Tag Team Championship.
Beyond showcasing, Sassmannshausen has a strong focus on teaching and modeling the fundamentals of equestrianism and creating an environment that inspires passion and fun for all aspects of the industry. He is also actively involved in the daily running of the Kinvarra farm, including food management.
